Many models go on to become actors (Cameron Diaz, Famke Janssen); some become musicians (Carla Bruni, Nico); and others, moguls (Kate Moss, Tyra Banks). But not many can bust out the “model-turned-photographer” title as Ellen von Unwerth can.

Having been a model herself, it makes perfect sense that she’s most renowned for her fashion work. And, having launched her photography career in the ’80s, it’s little wonder that the era’s sensibilities — sensuality, spontaneity, spunk and a little fetishism thrown in for fun — are hallmarks of von Unwerth’s style. But with Le Bon Marché’s new exhibition, “Ellen’Cinéma,” the German-born beauty has trained her lens on the other skinny, elite bunch we can’t seem to take our eyes off: Hollywood.
